Question

ios 10 w/iphone6 reminders app issue!

after installing ios 10 my reminders app doesnt seem to be working....

i create a reminder on my iphone itself, set a day and a time for it to go off...
the reminder however only pops up and goes off on my desktop imac and doesnt seem to alert me
on my actual phone where i physically created the reminder... I tried toggling off the reminder button
under icloud in settings... also tried hitting the sync button in the reminders app itself under settings.. didnt seem
to help... can anyone offer any guidance?

Hi AppleLover5271,

I understand that you are not getting the notifications for the Reminders that you set up on your iPhone, but they do appear on the iMac. I depend on Reminders to alert me during the day, so I can understand your concern. I will be happy to help you with this.

You did a good job checking those settings. I would also like for you to check Settings > Notifications. Scroll to Reminders and tap that. Make sure that Allow Notifications are on. There you can also turn on/off the different sections like Show in Notification Center, Show on Lock Screen, etc. For more information on Notifications, please see the following article:

Use Notifications on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Give those settings a look over and test out the reminders again. If needed, set up a quick test reminder and see if it is now working properly for you.

I have the same problem. I checked the settings and the notifications as you suggested but the reminders app is not even listed in my list of applications. I have checked the list multiple times now to make sure that I am not missing it. Thanks for your help in advance! (If it helps, I have an iPhone 5s)

Hi Sarah,

I have the same problem here. Notifications are being stored and synchronised correctly between my various apple devices (macOS and iOS). All devices notify of a reminder correctly except for one: an iPad Air in my case, running iOS 10. When I look in Settings, Notifications on that device, the Reminders app is not listed, although all other apps do seem to be.

So somehow some iOS 10 devices seem not to register Reminders as an app under Notifications. And I am now hunting for a way to reinstate it on the Notifications list. If you have any suggestions I (and others I think!) would be very grateful.

This seems to be an issue with the iOS, hopefully it gets fixed soon. In the meantime, try turning your phone off and back on. Once your phone is back on, it takes ~30 seconds for the reminders to come back, but once you see them appear at the top of the home screen, they should come back to the lock screen. At least for a little while...

I have the exact same problem on my 6s and my girlfriend does too on her 5s.

I've seen it on other forums too, seems widespread. Hope it'll get fixed with the next iOS 10 update...

I already wrote a feedback directly to Apple.

I have the same problem with iPhone 6 Plus with iOS 10. Reminders app is not listed in Notifications list. I get reminder alerts on my iPad and Mac but not my iPhone.

I just did update to 10.1.1 and it appears to have fixed the problem. Reminders app is now in Settings>Notifications and I am getting reminder alerts again.

Nope! At first it could seem that way but after a while, reminders will (randomly) not notify.

Not all of them but some. Which is really annoying and a big problem especially for use at work.

Apple has stopped listening! There are more threads about this problem and NO solution or response.
